The Principles of Our Way: 
 
    The environment of this great planet, planet Earth, is the cathedral of our worship. Therefore, as often as possible our rites should be held in the forests, by the sea, on the mountaintops of the desert, within the fields of the plains, or wherever nature prevails with a loud voice. Whenever this is not possible gardens, chambers, or man-made shelters will suffice, but they must be purified and their false nature acknowledged. 

     Always seek out wisdom and truth. It is found in the things of humanity: religious texts, philosophical notes, cryptic poems, paintings, and rare manuscripts. However, the greatest of wisdoms and truths are found in the simplicity of nature: within stones, herbs, fields, forests, deserts, animals, and the elements of old. Listen to the elements of old and the elements of new, for in them are hidden the secrets of our universe.

     Cautiously accept change, for it is part of our nature, however, steer clear of those who would have it quickly, for the Earth herself declares not rapid change, but a steady shifting of her ways.

     There can be no monopoly on wisdom and truth. However there will be some who would use it for harm. Therefore, share your wisdom with others, but share it according to necessity, experience, and balance.

     Mock not another’s beliefs and convictions, but rather share our beliefs and convictions with them. To do so can only lead them toward balance and harmony, for knowledge breeds acceptance.

     Ensure that your actions are honorable and true, for all that you do will be written in time forever, and shall return to you infinitely, good or bane. Do not adhere to those who would claim you can distance yourself from your actions, for this is a falsity. Only your actions may distance themselves from you through the course of the ripples of time.

     Beware of those who would dominate, control, and manipulate you, your workings, and reverences. Such one-sided ideologies are not balanced and harmonious and will surely end in disaster. If all are not equal in unity, if one individual’s voice is all that is heard above the rest, and if one individual’s way is all that is accepted than they have not understood our way. There are no chieftains with authority in our nature, for chieftains given authority quickly forget the necessities of all things in unity.

     Honor all things animate and inanimate, for this is our way. We are the kings and queens of this world, and our duty is to care for it. Do not destroy life save it be to preserve another or your own.

     And know in your hearts that these are the principles of our way. 
 

The Thirteen Dedications of the Gray Witch:
 
I. The God/dess is the infinite, the “cause of the first cause” that always was and yet never was. All other gods, goddesses and things are faces of the One true Unity. They may be honored separately or together, but all are One.

II. You shall seek out total and complete balance in all things that you are, that you do, and that you shall seek to be.

III. You shall only use magick to achieve balance and truth.

IV. You shall make certain that every action is thought out thoroughly before it is acted upon and that balance and unity are its objective.

V. You shall never lie to hide your deeds and desires unless by lying you are preserving the balance of nature that has not already been tainted by your actions.

VI. You shall uphold the rights of all toward nature, and of nature toward all, for this is balance.

VII. You shall hold no ideals of humanity above the ideals of nature’s balance.

VIII. You shall respect all things living, all things dead, and all things spiritual in nature.

IX. You shall only disturb an environment when it is necessary for balance.

X. You shall recognize “balance” as anything that upholds nature and unity; be it physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, or ideological.

XI. You shall be committed to your beliefs, family, clan, tribe, nation, and world.

XII. You shall seek out balanced health, balanced love, balanced truth, and practice moderation.

XIII. You shall not adhere to any beliefs, methods, or evidences of proof that distinctly contradict the Thirteen Dedications, for anyone can make an apparent truth manifest.

Identity of worship and reverence:
 
Practitioners of the gray craft may hold their rites either solitarily or in groups. There are no correct or incorrect ways by which to hold the rites of gray witchcraft other than by upholding the nature of our way. As long as one or many are upholding the ways of the gray craft they may rightly call themselves practitioners of our way. 
The way of the Gray Wizard is found in the nature of our way, the Principles of our way, the Thirteen Dedications, the Creed, and the Nine Noble Virtues. These are the qualifications of the gray craft… 
  
  
Deity and the Gods and Goddesses Of the Gray Craft
 
               The Way of the Gray Wizard is both monotheistic and polytheistic, for we believe in one ‘Unity’ with many faces. Each and every individual god is a high personality or characteristic of the entire Unity, or one true deity. Not only is this Unity composed of the various gods of old and new, but it also is composed of all the various goddesses of old and new. The Unity is also quite polar and dualistic. In essence the Way of the Gray Wizard is a dualistic polytheism that forms a monotheistic unity.
                A grand example of just what it is that a practitioner of the gray craft believes in is in humankind itself. In the whole of humankind is found dualism in gender, differences in appearance, various personalities and traits, as well as special areas of interest and natural cunning. Each individual human being is wondrous, incredible, and dangerous in his/her own rite. However, it is humanity as a whole which is most wonderful, powerful, and deadly. It is not the individual that makes one great, but many individuals that make all great!
                Those who practice the gray craft believe that the God, or father-god, has many faces, personalities, and traits. He is manifest in many ways just as man, or the masculine, is manifest in many ways. In addition, followers of the gray craft believe that the Goddess, or mother-goddess, has many faces, personalities, and traits. She too is manifest in many ways just as woman, or the feminine, is manifest in many ways. Together the God and Goddess are a union of the God/dess, who is One, or the ‘Unity’, just as men and women are the united polarities of humankind.
                Furthermore, not only are all the various gods and goddesses separate and independent parts of the ‘Unity’, but all things existent and non-existent also comprise the ‘Unity’. All are one and one are all. The God/dess is neither within the boundaries of the circle or without the boundaries of the circle, but instead the God/dess is the circle itself. Just as each individual numeral is finite, composing the infinite, so too is the God/dess both finite and infinite, existent and non-existent, with form and without form. The God/dess is all things that where and where not, are and are not, will be and will not be, for the God/dess is all, the ‘Unity’.
                The God/dess that is revered by practitioners of the Way of the Gray Wizard is comprised of the earth, the moon, the stars, the sun, the sky, the trees, the rocks, the waters, energy, space, time,  the elemental beings, and all things existent and imaginable. S/he is neither male nor female, but rather is equated to both genders separately and jointly. The God/dess is the Unity of the God and Goddess. S/he is the ‘unit’ of their existence, power, and purpose. The God/dess is male, female, with gender, without gender, heterosexual, homosexual, and bisexual; the God/dess is omni-sexual and omni-gendered. Furthermore, the God/dess is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient, for the God/dess is all things; good and bane, the God/dess is all things at once.
                Typically, a practitioner of the ways of the gray craft will revere the God/dess, but they may also revere the separate entities that comprise He/r according to their desired areas of necessity. When this task is undertaken (referred to as ‘invocation’ or ‘evocation’) it will usually be recognized as calling upon the gods of old. The gods most often called upon are the gods and goddesses’ of one’s ancestors. However, it is also quite common and accepted to call upon other gods and goddesses. Obviously several deities have many different areas of special interest and skill. Additional Explanation of Beliefs
 

 

• Both good and bane are necessary for proper balance as is clearly defined by nature. The Gray Wizard or Witch looks to nature to seek out proper balance and harmony.
• Karmic law and its methods are written into nature to ensure proper balance. Karmic law is not based upon intentions but rather on actions; karmic law by itself has no care for intentions.
• It is natural, balanced, and acceptable to express love equally toward each gender and race, and to make a commitment toward the unification of humanity; all things are bisexual by nature.
• Commitment to family and partners is an action of balance and harmony that ensures the survival of nature, however, commitment should never include the exclusion of others; exclusive monogamy is an imbalanced practice that hinders the unification of humankind.
• All of nature is privy to the basic natural rights of life, liberty, reproduction, expression, thought, movement, freewill, and growth. These are things that should not be censored, restricted, denied, or sold for monetary gain. As these basic natural rights are given, so should they only be taken away or withheld; nature is the image of the God/dess.
• All things have a spirit energy that is part of the ‘Unity’ of the God/dess and are destined to evolve into either total unity or total discord. There is no single destination for one, but a single destination for all; our intentions only affect our universal destiny.
• Energy, which comprises all things, can neither be created nor destroyed, but only transformed. Therefore, as all things that are now are the God/dess, all things that are no more still remain, but have been transformed. The God/dess always was and always will be, and S/he can only transform into H/er own destiny, which is also our destiny.
• All things within nature are inherently balanced, useful, and with purpose when used in moderation and according to their perspective purposes.

    
Principles of Magick
 
          Magick has long been practiced throughout history in many forms and under the guise of many names. In essence, ‘magick’ (with a ‘k’) can most easily be compared to what is most commonly referred to as prayer. It is the process by which to bring about a desired change to any object, idea, or energy that is capable of such change. Magick is not capable of violating the physical laws of the universe as they are understood; however, it is quite capable of bending them, altering them, or using other physical means by which to overcome them. Basically, magick can do whatever energy can do as it is merely the process of channeling and directing energy.
          Magick and magic are not the same things. To distinguish the difference between the two separate terms and definitions Aleister Crowley coined the term ‘magick’, as an alternative to the word ‘magic’, or slight of hand. The term ‘magick’ is spelled with a ‘k’ and pronounced differently – mage-ick – to differentiate it from stage magic and the arts of illusion. Magick is the science of the magi and is spiritual in nature unlike the physical trickery of illusionary magic. In addition, the letter ‘k’ is the eleventh letter of the Latin alphabet; in numerology the number eleven represents hidden energies and magick. Therefore, the addition of the letter ‘k’ is thought to enhance the power and meaning of the word itself.
          There is no such thing as “white magick” or “black magick” contained within the universe, but there is only “magick”, or “gray magick”. Such definitions of magick are intended to distinguish the differences between the initial intentions of the individual or individuals involved in the process of performing magick, not to distinguish two separate manifestations of energy.
          Crowley defined magick as “the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with the will”. He included both mundane acts and what is commonly referred to as ritual magick in his personal definition. In his book, “Magick Theory and Practice”, Crowley states:
 
“What is magical operation? It may be defined as any event in nature which is brought to pass by will. We must not exclude potato-growing or banking from our definition. Let us take a very simple example of a magical act: that of a man blowing his nose.”
 
          Magick is any event in nature that is made to occur by intention and will. A magical act can be anything from holding one’s breath to conjuring the proper conditions for rain. The size and scope of a magical act depends solely on the amount of energy, focus, and will that is placed into a desired outcome.
          The difference between ritual magick and physical action is simply the method one uses to direct their intentions; however, all methods begin at the same source, that source being conscious or unconscious will. This makes for the need for distinction between the spiritual realms and the physical realms, the spiritual realms being composed of willful manifestations, and the physical realms being composed of manifestations that either require no will or have already been manifested by one’s will. In other words, the spiritual realm is where one would will the placement of an object into the physical realm, but the physical realm is where the object would physically react to the spiritual will. The physical action to levitate an object would require lifting it, which can be done in many ways not necessarily proportional to the enactor’s direct physical actions, but still demonstrable by proper scientific method to be caused by the enactor by proxy. The spiritual action to levitate an object would require the exclusion of direct physical action by the enactor to such a degree that the scientific method can not accurately demonstrate the enactor’s physical connection to the process of levitation even by proxy.
 
Example:
Physical Proclamation: I shall move the brick from this spot to that spot.
Physical Action: I told “Jennifer” to pick the brick up and transport it to the new location.
Physical Proclamation: I shall move the brick from this spot to that spot.
Spiritual Action: I look at “Jennifer” with loving eyes, push out my lip, and say in a sweet tone, “I love you, Jennifer”. Then “Jennifer” picks up the brick and transports it to the new location without my direct or even indirect command.
 
          In addition, it is also important to note that any magical operation may be performed either individually (referred to as solitary practice) or in accord with one or more individuals (referred to as group or coven practice). No one way is considered to always be more powerful or effective than another, other than to say that the magnitude of any magical act and its outcome depends upon the amounts of energy, focus, and intention placed into them. 
  

Magick Theory-
 
              Magick theory is merely the accepted term that is used to describe the hypothesis of what magick is and how it works. Normally it is a mixture of science, mathematics, and pseudo-sciences that are used to describe this process, and can include theosophy as well, but does not necessarily require it (such as Chaos Magick Theory).
                In Gray Craft Magick Theory all things existent are composed of energy. Matter is merely the physical reflection of the manifestation of directed energies. In short, the physical realm is simply a reflection of the true spiritual realm, which is entirely composed of energy. Thus, all true realities begin and end (however it is merely transformation) on the spiritual plane opposed to the physical plane as is most often practiced to be the true reality. The physical realm is where all results, wakes, and reflections occur, therefore, it is easy to see how and why this thinking developed into common practice, as opposed to the complete opposite. Furthermore, the means by which we are able to detect the vast majority of results, wakes, and reflections are found in the physical senses that are bound to the exact same constraints, being physical in them selves. It is also interesting to note the rhetorical nature of this equation. By that I mean the necessity to assume our physical senses are true in order to assume that what they detect on the same physical plane may also be true, and visa versa.
                We know that light, heat, and the like can be detected due to its physical reflection or the wake (evidences) that energy leaves behind, and we also know because of this that such energy can be controlled. The same can be said of the reflection of ourselves in the mirror or in the paintings of an artist. What we perceive as manifest is actually a reflection of the energy that originally created it. All things individually are the reflection of a specific energy, and all things together are the reflection of all energy.
                Energy is an eternal force with no beginning and no end that constantly and consistently is subjected to various transformations of physical manifestation within our system. The First Law of Thermodynamics states:
 
                “ The increase in the internal energy of a system is equal to the amount of energy added by heating the system, minus the amount lost as a result of the work done by the system on its surroundings.”
 
                This is the statement of the conservation of energy for a thermodynamic system. In lay mans terms it means that energy can neither be created, nor destroyed, but it can be converted from one form to another. What is given to one must be taken from another; this is quite similar to the Newton’s Third Law of Motion:
 
                “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”
 
                The First Law of Thermodynamics is important in understanding just what energy is. Energy is the all, the ‘Unity’, the God/dess. All things are composed of energy and from energy, and all things are part of the God/dess. Newton’s Third Law of Motion is very important for understanding the process by which energy works, or magick, since magick is the focusing or exertion of energy. Whenever energy is moved from one location to another it must leave its present location. Thus, in order to manifest something at point A, something must be taken from another point or points to place at point A. In lay mans terms, in order to receive someone or something must give; you can not get unless you are given too or you take from. Energy, or the God/dess, can be transformed, but it or S/he can not be created or destroyed. Magick is the process by which various parts of the God/dess are transformed or rearranged into new manifestations or arrangements.
                However, in this process one must not forget Entropy, or the measure of order or disorder about a system. Entropy states that in the transfer of energy some energy will be lost. In other words, if some energy is not constantly fed into a partial system (manifestation) that manifestation will eventually breakdown and become transformed into another manifestation within the whole system; a manifestation can not be left to itself and expected to not eventually deteriorate- energy must always be presented into the manifestation to some degree in order for it to be maintained at its present state. Therefore, all permanent acts of magick will require permanent energy sources, and all temporary acts of magick will require energy to manifest them as well as slightly more energy to maintain them. The duration of a magical act is directly proportionate to the amount of energy placed into it, just as the manifestation of a magical act is directly proportionate to the energy required to manifest it.
               All magical operations require two parts, or amounts, of energy:
 
Energy of the direct proportion required for manifestation
Energy of the direct proportion required for duration
 
                The duration of any magical operation is also dependent upon whether or not there will be any outside influences or forces at work. Not only must it have the energy to maintain itself and its desired purpose, but it also must have the energy to resist the pressures of outside forces and influences acting upon it. One may utilize energy to create an object and one may also utilize energy to move an object, but one must also account for the energy necessary for the object to overcome other forces and influences without breaking down or becoming altered. Newton’s Second Law is responsible for this necessity.
                Magick is the focusing of energy, or the God/dess, of which we to are part of (the God/dess is all things), into a specifically desired manifestation. This may seem to be the equivalent of man controlling God to some, but the Gray Witch or Wizard sees this as being no different than controlling their own energy, since we are all part of the God/dess. In reality, controlling the flow of energy within the universe is a necessity of nature that is impossible to escape without relinquishing all freewill which too is part of nature; freewill is an energy of nature that maintains limited independent control from energy as a whole- it is the finite within the infinite.
                Because freewill is the finite within the infinite it is incapable of operating in the infinite without the aid of the infinite. Freewill can best be expressed as two components- thought and belief. Both thought and belief are independent of one another, but incapable of existing without the other. Again, this is a direct result of Newton’s Third Law of Motion. Thought can not exist without the ability to believe that it exists, and belief can not exist without the ability to form the thought of a specific belief; both thought and belief must always occur in pairs. By no means should this fact be confused with the process of combining the two, which is referred to as “faith”, and must always occur. In short, freewill is composed of the two independent ingredients of thought and belief, which can not exist without each other, but the actual inevitable process of combining those two ingredients to obtain freewill, is called “faith”; the trinity of freewill is thought, belief, and faith. Nothing can exist unless it is conceived (thought), believed in, and then has belief placed into that concept, or thought- faith. Conversely, nothing can not exist unless it is conceived (thought), believed in, and then has doubt placed into that concept, or thought- faith in no faith, or doubt. Existence and non-existence, as they are commonly defined, are completely dependent upon the act of freewill, therefore, all things existent and non-existent are dependent upon the only true reality- freewill.
                The infinite is all finite existences combined, such finite existences being infinite in number. Therefore, the infinite is the combined or common will of all freewill; the will of the God/dess is the common will of all wills. No individual will can operate outside of itself without first being subjected to, but not limited to, the common will, or will of the God/dess. Again, the God/dess must be defined as energy in order to understand how this is possible. In order for an individual energy to overpower all other energy present it must either be more powerful (greater in magnitude), take the path of least resistance (which it will commonly do), or do both. It is also important to note the proximity of one form of energy in conjunction to another; the closer one energy is to its source the greater its effect upon all other energy in the immediate vicinity. This is why the common will, or will of the God/dess, does not overpower the individual’s freewill in all circumstances and instances.
                We now know that all energy is the God/dess, part of that energy composes the individual or individual object, that magick is the process of directing and focusing that energy, that common will is the common result of over-all energy direction, and that freewill is the individual result of directed energy in relation to its proximity of origin. We also know that the greater the magnitude or number of individuals that uphold a common will, the greater the influence that will can hold over an individual’s will in regards to proximity. For an extreme example, if all people past and present believe that an individual can not fly, he will face impossible difficulty overcoming such a will even within his own space, time, and mind. Hence, in order to do so he shall have to work around the common will by taking the path of least resistance; physical law is the highest common will.
                In addition, it becomes quite evident that the greater the number of wills involved in a common “faith”, the greater that “faith” becomes, and the easier it becomes manifest. To doubt such a statement is to exclaim that science itself has no merit, since all rational people believe in the laws of nature. It is important however, to note that the laws of nature are based upon our current understandings, and are therefore common beliefs. If it were not so, then the Theory of Relativity would never have come to pass. It is also important to note that the Theory of Relativity is based upon the use of Newtonian Physics; no law has ever become existent without some evidences to believe in. All things can be traced back to their true sensory origin- faith. Once one removes the five senses reality becomes nothing more than belief, and all sensory perceptions must also be believed in.
                This common will of common faith must be taken into account for all magical operations. The witch or wizard must be quite aware of what will is more common than the other for successful magical operation. Obviously, at the top of the ladder are found the elemental forces, or spirits that are discussed in the ‘Spirit Guide’, which are more commonly referred to as the forces of physics. It is suggested that the gray witch or wizard attempt to work along the path of least resistance when dealing with such powers of common will.
 
                A magical operation is performed by seven steps:
 

• Formulating a thought
• Believing in that thought
• Applying the thought through visualization
• Directing energy through any number of means that “faith” is put into
• Releasing the energy into a manifest form
• Placing energy into its appropriate duration
• Maintaining “faith” in its manifestation

 
                This all being said and understood, it is now important to touch upon the ethical and moral implications that are written directly into nature-called Karma.
                Karma is not the law of “cause and effect” as some would imply (that is magick), but rather it is the law of consequence for any particular “cause and effect”. It can be seen once again in the Thermodynamic Laws.
                If you heat up an object you to are going to feel the heat of the object, as the object must be in close proximity to you (or connected) in order to heat it up. In other words, anything you do will inevitably be felt by you as well. In one way or another you must be subjected to the exact amount of consequence you caused to manifest. The amount of consequence for an action is directly proportionate to the amount of direct cause you manifested. Such a statement may seem simple enough, but it can be extremely tricky. Karmic consequence may come immediately, in the short term, in the long term, through others, by your own hand, or reciprocated by the affected object. There is no direct way of knowing exactly what any consequence (or reward) may be for any action and by what means it may return.
                Furthermore, there is technically no way of knowing what sort of consequence (or reward) may become of an action, but we can make an educated guess based on past experiences and similar outcomes. All that we can know is that energy affects everything it comes in contact with to one degree or another. In other words, we may not receive direct consequence or reward for an action because we manifest it through many channels, but we will receive dissipated consequence or reward through all the channels that became affected in due time, or possibly all at once. Theoretically it is possible that all, or most, of one’s karmic consequence and/or reward could return to them in only one moment of time.
However, the key thing to remember about the law of karmic return is simply that there is no such thing as threefold return because nature works on a scale of balance, which is its ultimate and normal purpose, therefore, karmic return will always be equivalent to what was originally made manifest. Karmic return can not be escaped, but its affects can be dissipated by counteractive karmic return (i.e. hate breeds hate, but love can eventually wash hatred away). It can not be escaped because any operation that is made manifest will set off an infinite chain reaction that will never cease, but will dissipate over time to where it is unrecognizable or completely transformed if the proper forces are manifest to counter its affects- the Second Newtonian Law of Motion. Karma is the final outcome of any magical manifestation.
                In order for the magician to reduce the effects of karmic law the path of least resistance must be taken. In other words, the more objects moving in the same direction as the magician’s object, the less energy must be converted to move the magician’s object in that direction; the less energy placed into any manifestation, the less consequence or reward is likely for the action. The path of least resistance is the common will, or the natural tendency of balance, since “will” and “karma” work together. Thus, if the magician wishes to exercise his/her freewill they are best advised to exercise that freewill according to the will of the God/dess, or common will, unless they enjoy suffering and consistent failure due to the laws of nature. 
  

Types of Magick-
 
               There are five separate types of magick that the Gray Witch or Wizard may use to perform any magical operation. These five types of magick are: Elemental Magick, Folk Magick, Gestured Magick, Suggestive Magick, and Visionary Magick. The “five magicks” can be used separately or together. All five separate types of magick can be subcategorized into two separate forms- High Magick and Low Magick.
 
Elemental Magick:

Elemental magick is any form of magick that does one of three things: enlists the aid of one or more ‘Elemental Spirits’, utilizes one specific elemental property, or utilizes more than one elemental property. In other words, Elemental Magick is any magick that largely incorporates the usage of and/or the properties of one or more elemental forces. All magick is elemental to one degree or another. 
The ancient elementals of magick are: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Each of these elementals has a modern name: Earth is Gravity, Air is Weak Nuclear Force, Fire is Electromagnetic Force, and Water is Strong Nuclear Force. Typically, these elements are ascribed various symbolic properties, characteristics, and directions. It is also important to note that each individual and individual object, although formed by these forces, tends to show primary traits of one elemental property above the others. In other words, a light bulb will tend to have a greater electromagnetic affect upon its environment than a gravitational affect. Conversely, an individual or object commonly ascribed to one of the elements will tend to manifest more of its individual elemental property into its environment than it will manifest any of the other elemental properties into its environment.
 
Folk Magick:

Folk magick is any form of magick that does not necessarily involve spiritual ritual, channeling, moving, and visualizing energy, or any great degree of difficulty other than ‘trial and error’. It can be found in superstitions, rhymes, and traditions. It is the gathering together of various objects with corresponding energies for a specific desired intent, or a sequence of physical actions for a specific desired purpose. Typically, Folk Magick can be classified as magick we have been practicing for years without even realizing it. Some common types of Folk Magick are: alchemy, astrology, divination, herbal medicine, kitchen witchcraft, magnetic therapy, and simple well-wishing.
 
Gestured Magick:

 When magick is gestured it is called Gestured Magick, or the act of gesturing a manifestation through conscious body language, sub-conscious body language, or suggestive magick where a direct or near direct suggestion is implied. Gestured magick is used to invoke manifestation in the spiritual, emotional, and physical realms through the act of physical gesturing. Some types of Gestured Magick are blowing, facial expression, imitating, physically motioning, pointing, sucking, touching, and using hand signals or signs.
 
High Magick:

This form of magick is commonly referred to as Ceremonial Magick. It involves the use of ceremonies, rituals, and spiritual forms to impose its applications. High Magick pulls its energy from the unity of energy found within the universe, which can be referred to as both good and bane, for the energy of the universe is balanced. It requires the magician to move beyond the realm of ‘self’ and into the realm of ‘universality’. High Magick can use any of the ‘five magicks’, but must include some form of spiritual, or higher application such as the evoking or invoking of angels, demons, elementals, entities, higher beings, and spirits. 
The practice of effective High magick requires great self discipline and should never be undertaken without meaningful intent and a full understanding of the beings and energies involved. The use of High Magick can be very powerful and effective, but without proper knowledge gained from experience its results will often manifest in awkward ways, or result in abrupt and painful endings. When used properly High Magick can manifest beautiful and with very satisfactory results.
 
Low Magick:

Low magick is commonly referred to as Practical Magick, but this is not quite correct. Low Magick is much more than simple Folk Magick, for Low Magick can be any of the ‘five magicks’- elemental, folk, gestured, suggestive, or visionary. Essentially, Low Magick is the use of any form of magick without ceremonial or spiritual aid, or purpose. 
Low Magick pulls its energy from the individual and their surroundings rather than from angels, demons, elementals, entities, higher beings, and spirits. It utilizes individualized energies rather than universal and united energies. Low Magick requires limited self control to perform and normally involves the intent of manifestation for self serving purposes.
 
Suggestive Magick:

This is the most commonly used form of the ‘five magicks’. Any form of magick that brings about a manifestation in a suggestive way is referred to as Suggestive Magick. Certain actions, activities, animals, colors, objects, symbols, and times are suggestive, or contain characteristics, of a desired intention, manifestation, object, or subject. Often Suggestive Magick is subcategorized as alphabet magick, aromatherapy, candle magick, color magick, feng shui, image magick, knot magick, moon magick, poppet magick, runic magick, sex magick, stone and crystal magick, sun magick, symbolism, sympathetic magick, and talisman magick, to name a few. All of these subcategories are based on the same principles which compose the art of Suggestive Magick.
 
Visionary Magick:
Visionary Magick is the purest form of energy work. It is magick manifest through the imagination of the mind based on a desired will and focused on a specific intent; Visionary Magick is where all true magick must have its source. It is done by generating a desired will, focusing on it, creating an image of energy (often this is done with emotion), holding the image, and then projecting that energy through a vision of how it is to become manifest. Simply put, Visionary Magick is “faith” in the power of the imagination.

Alphabets : there are four basic forms of magical alphabets commonly used by the practitioner of the gray craft, these are: Enochian, Ogham, Runic, and Theban. 
  
The Enochian Alphabet is an angelic script given to Edward Kelly and Dr. John Dees by an angel. It is to be used when working with angels and demons and is typically written from right to left. 
The Ogham Alphabet is Druidic in origin where each letter corresponds to a tree. It is written with the letters strung together on a central line either horizontally or vertically. 
The Runic Alphabet is the wise, powerful, and secret magick alphabet given to the Norse God Odin. It is normally written either left to right or right to left.

Gestures : there are common physical gestures used by the magician to signify various acts. Gestures are also used for casting the circle, un-casting the circle, and cutting a doorway in the magical circle among many things. Gestures can be produced with the body, face, or hands. On the hands the thumb represents Venus and the Earth, the index finger represents Jupiter, the middle finger is ruled by Saturn, the ring finger symbolizes the Sun and Apollo, and the little finger represents Mercury.                 God/dess gesture- stand with the feet and legs together, body ridged and upright, raise and spread the arms with fingers spread and stretched high. Hold the head up toward the sky with the left hand making the Goddess hand gesture (see Goddess gesture) and the right hand making the God hand gesture (see God gesture).
 
                God gesture- stand with the feet and legs together, body ridged and upright, cross the arms with fists clenched (right over left), and hold the head up high. The God may also be gestured with the right hand by closing the fist, holding up the index and last finger, and holding down the remaining fingers with the thumb.
 
                Goddess gesture- stand with the feet apart, hands and arms raised above the head, palms open, and head held high. The Goddess may also be gestured with the left hand by holding up the index finger and thumb, pulling the remaining fingers down into the palm, and making the shape of a crescent moon.
 
                Earth gesture- hold the hand out with fingers straight and held together, keep the palm down. Use your projective hand (dominant hand)for dismissing and your receptive hand for invoking or evoking.
 
                Air gesture- hold the hand outward, palm up and fingers stretched apart facing outward. Use the projective hand (dominant hand) for dismissing and the receptive hand for invoking or evoking.
 
                Fire gesture- hold the hand outward with fist clenched and turned inward. Use the projective hand (dominant hand) for dismissing and the receptive hand for invoking or evoking.
 
                Water gesture- hold the hand outward, palm up, with fingers together and cupped. Use the projective hand (dominant hand) for dismissing, and the receptive hand for invoking or evoking. 

                Projective hand- the projective hand is the individual's dominant hand (usually the hand they write with).

Meditation
 
         Life is one long meditation; it’s never difficult to do, it’s just difficult to find the right way for you to do it. Like life however, you must let go of your circumstances (or perceptions) for a time in order to focus.
Meditation is nothing more than standing on a crowded street, hearing voices, beeps, sirens, and all other noises, feeling a deep cold chill, shivering, having a headset on, thirsting, and smelling pungent smells, yet still being able to take a hammer and properly strike a nail without distraction. The reverse (which is also meditation), of course, is being able to allow all those perceptions to blend together into a peaceful flow of energy rather than present themselves as chaotic energy. Meditation is either focus, or the lack thereof. However, more appropriately it may be called the focusing on the lack thereof of focus, for the lack of ability to focus is chaos.
          As adults we allow our minds to run away with us... We sit at work, school, on the coach, at the game, etc and place our minds in other realms, upon other matters rather than the matter at hand. Unlike children playing a game for hours on end we need to meditate because our minds will not cease to move. It is not that a child's mind does not move, but that when it does the rest of the child follows. Meditation is about joining yourself into unity again- like the child...
When we wish to run, we should run, not run and think about the bills. When we dance, we should dance, not dance and think about how we look. Modern life demands multi-tasking, but meditation creates unified-tasking. Sitting still and emptying the mind is, simply, sitting still- this is meditation.
          The technique used for meditation (all meditation exercises) is simply to narrow your focus (perceptions) one thing at a time until all that is left is one individual thing (such as breathing, or a drum beat), then eventually that one point of focus becomes "second-nature" and nothing else is left (not even the thought of it), but simply it...
